Late SUMITA BHATTACHERJEE, wife of Mr. MADAN KUMAR BHATTACHARJEE,had been undergoing treatment of the dreadly OVARIAN CANCER since October 2006 . Ultimately she passed away on 13th September 2008 leaving the beautiful world. With her sole inspiration behind this philanthropic effort, Mr. Bhattacharjee finally came to the decision to set up the society with a motto to fight against the deadly disease cancer through it.

"SILIGURI SUMITA CANCER RELIEF WELFARE & EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY" was registered on 2nd June 2008 vide no: SO152702 of 2008-2009 under Certificate of Registration of Societies, West Bengal Act. XXVI of 1961.We started our journey on 28/11/2008 with cancer awareness camp.
